The cost of braces in Los Angeles can vary significantly depending on a variety of factors, including the complexity of the case, the type of braces selected, and the duration of treatment. On average, traditional metal braces can range from $3,500 to $6500, while more advanced options such as ceramic braces or Invisalign will often cost more at many orthodontic offices. At Textbook Orthodontics, the cost to patients for treatment with aligners can be the same or slightly higher than braces.
It’s important to remember that most dental insurance plans cover a portion of orthodontic treatment, and many orthodontists offer payment plans to assist with the cost. For an accurate estimate, it is highly recommended to consult with a local orthodontist who can provide a detailed assessment based on individual needs.
What Affects the Cost of Braces in California?
Four things decide your price:
Case complexity. Mild crowding or spacing costs less than a deep bite, crossbite or underbite.
Treatment length. Shorter treatment means fewer visits and a lower total.
Type of braces. Metal braces are the most affordable. Clear ceramic braces and clear aligners like Invisalign usually cost the same or slightly more.
Extra appliances. Palate expanders, MARPE or early Phase I treatment for children may be added when needed.
